At Chrysalis Home for Girls, we nurture, educate, and empower young girls to overcome challenges and build a life full of hope and opportunity.
Chrysalis is a residential home for girls aged 14–21 who need therapeutic foster care. Our trained specialists guide each girl on her journey to physical and emotional well-being, helping them build a brighter future. Since opening in 1988, Chrysalis has supported hundreds of girls, welcoming up to fourteen residents at a time from the Wiregrass area and across Alabama. As a nonprofit organization, all donations are tax-deductible.
Our mission is to empower young girls by providing a safe, nurturing environment where they can heal, learn, and grow. Through guidance, education, and mentorship, we help each girl build the confidence and skills needed to succeed in life.
Chrysalis envisions a world where every girl has a safe and loving environment to grow, mature, and develop the skills she needs to thrive. Our goal is to prepare young women to become productive, confident members of their communities.
Chrysalis utilizes evidence-based treatment approaches, and Certified Trauma Therapists help clients develop the cognitive and behavioral skills required to become happy and healthy. This system is flexible enough to allow the development of individual plans of care, yet structured enough to define the parameters within which each girl is expected to function.

The Transitional Living program helps older girls (16–20) prepare for independence in a family-style setting. With guidance from life coaches, residents learn essential life skills such as budgeting, job readiness, and personal responsibility. This program empowers girls to transition confidently into adulthood while maintaining the support and care they need to succeed as self-sufficient, productive young women.
